I started my business in 2016 under the business name Rosebud Creations RY up until the end of April 2021 when I made the switch to Sprig of Silver. My new business name and logo fits in better with the styles I have settled in to making. I chose the name Sprig of Silver because my name is Rosemary and you get Sprigs of Rosemary. Silver comes in because most of the jewellery I make is Silver! The logo I designed to show my different influences and styles I enjoy making- botanical from the sprig of rosemary, stars and dots I use in my bookmarks a lot, simple rings that I make a lot of and the hand just because it's cool!

I went from rescuing and rehabilitating wild animals in South Africa (see picture below) and Scotland to starting up my own business doing something else I love! I am self-taught in jewellery making and drawing. I recently started to make more creative things that were more detailed as my skills grew. I am mostly inspired by nature and animals, though I made a zodiac range which I really enjoyed.

I do everything to do with the business; from designing and making the jewellery, to photography and editing, to putting the items up for sale and building this website! Though I must admit my Mum helps me out with some of the numbers! I work on Sprig of Silver business but also part time as a cleaner and occasionally waitress. I have a lot to learn still and am picking up new skills as I go along which keeps it fun and challenging. I've always enjoyed arts and crafts so I'm loving working on the jewellery and drawing again.

 

I live in Central Scotland again with my friend and my Chihuahua Jensen, who keeps my parents company while I work at their house!
